In Malawi a classroom is shared by 125 children – because there are not enough schools, not enough teachers and not enough money for school material. However, education is the key for a brighter future. That is why we prepare children from Malawi with selective projects for their future.
Our focus is on integrating the pupils. We want to strengthen their faith in their abilities. They should be proud of their culture, their knowledge and their abilities. We want to make them aware what they are able to and what all they can achieve.
In the very beginning, our first school block in Zomba was financed by the pupils’ creativity. The children painted scenes out of Malawian every day life. 12,000 Swiss francs resulted from the sale of these paintings at an art exhibition in Berne, Switzerland. The first school block was followed by nine more, a football camp took place five times and more projects are waiting to be realized.
We all benefit from these intercultural and mutual projects. We are different and that is why we permanently learn from one another and we get closer to the other culture by personal contact.
